And though I don't feel comfortable advising against an item simply because of the way it fit my body when there are so many different bodies, the fit definitely dissuades me from repurchasing. All the aerie underwear I have, despite being washed in cold water in a delicate cycle without hard water with a gentle detergent, have faded and grayed swiftly. I think what is most frustrating to me about them is that, as a sewist, I have a lot of experience with the weight and the feel of quality or cheap fabrics, and aerie's is undoubtedly a thin and cheaply produced cotton in hand and wears like one.Īll the aerie underwear I have who have lace waists also have ripped lace waists. As someone who has had multiple sets of underwear from aerie over the years, I feel like my anecdotal evidence carries some weight. I don't want to have to throw out raggedy underwear and repurchase a whole new set every year, and with aerie underwear, I do. They wear like a fast fashion item, in my experience. Some have tag sewn in back (14 out of 16 panties did in most recent purchase) which is superbly itchy Various cuts that may appeal to many (tanga, boyshort etc) It seems that I am in the minority (and was a few months ago during the last dicussion), but I'd just like to offer a differing opinion on a subreddit that usually has very honest and resourceful comments. I recently got all new bras after learning about correct sizing over at r/abrathatfits and now I love all of my undergarments.Įveryone loves them, and I DETEST them! I've bought a few sets over the years and I don't think I'll be purchasing them again, no matter how inexpensive or cutesy they are. I just want to thank you all for the suggestion, this actually impacted my quality of life. I wish they didn't, but they're not ugly or anything. The most recent batch I got have silvery lacy lines around the legs and top. I was mildly concerned that the sizing may run small (based on comments that I read on FFA), but I stuck with my measurements, and the sizing ran true to what I usually wear, and they are not too tight.Ī heads-up though - a few months ago, I got some gorgeous lacy things, and they're solid colored. Also, maybe it's just a chubby-girl thing, but when sitting in the car on a long road trip, I often get weird creases in my underwear that dig into my butt, and they are very uncomfortable. They also are super thin, so except for the thinnest and sheerest fabrics, even cheek-cutting lines aren't visible. When I run them through the hand wash cycle with my other delicates, then hang them to dry, they are dry so quickly that I can wear them the next morning. The cotton ones are fine, but the lacy ones are great. The girl shorts and boy briefs are my favorite. I got a variety of cuts and fabrics, and I have to tell you ladies, these are the most comfortable, cutest underpants I've had as an adult. Hair, Makeup, Skincare, Fitness, and FragranceĪ few months ago, at the recommendation of many members (and desperately needing some new panties), I ordered the 7 for $25 or whatever of the aerie underwear, feeling OK about it because:ī) they are cheap, so even if I don't, it's not too big of a financial hitĬ)As a nearly 30 year old woman, I can order online, vs actually walking into an American Eagle.
